New 2026 Tax Incentives!

Beginning in 2026, a new federal tax change allows most taxpayers to deduct a portion of their charitable 501(c)(3) contributions, even if they take the standard deduction. This means your generosity to Ball Chatham Food Pantry can reduce your taxable income without the need to itemize your deductions.

What you need to know:

• Single filers can deduct up to $1,000 in cash donations to qualified nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations.

• Married couples filing jointly can deduct up to $2,000

You may be wondering why this matters. Most taxpayers take the standard deduction, which previously meant missing out on tax savings from charitable giving to a 501(c)(3) organization. This change helps ensure your generosity gets recognized financially and philanthropically.

Food donations can be dropped off at 1835 E Walnut St, Chatham, IL. Look for the pantry drop-off location at Chatham Presbyterian Church.
